Animal Instinct Art Show

I was contacted recently to participate in the Animal Instinct Art show benefitting the Humane Society at The ARTery @ The LAB in Costa Mesa. The curator pointed out drawings I made of snails, so I'm going to paint them up a bit, and have them in the show! More details of the event...

Feather Hood

Fall is here, the sun is still shining and the air is getting cooler. A friend pointed out this sketch in one of my books a while back, and I did think it was nice. Today I saw this amazing Chinese comic book artist/painter Bin Zhang, and was impressed. Here is his blog,

Just amazing painting, added to art heroes, wow! So confident and wild with color .. dang so radical. Was inspired. So I painted up my little sketch. I also had an slip selecting the lines, but it ended up looking really cool, so I made something of that as well. 2 versions of Feather Hood...Fall in LA. :)

Ivy Cartoon

So my best friend Ivy, were talking online last week and she made a joke that she is an internet cartoon. I was so amused and inspired that I drew some sketches of her as her wild character self. Ivy Something internet legend! I'll be working this.

Work in Progress) This is a sketch I made of my pal Izzy, She wanted a cool comic style portrait. She's into tank girl, so she wanted the style to remind of that (yeh!) She's got the coolest hair style/cut/color everytime I see her. Probably because she's a hairdresser. :)
