Beyond the Diet Podcast



I've been into eating healthy and staying fit for a long time. But as a curious person that needs new information, I try to seek out the latest science to further advance myself. I found this podcast a while back, and it has taught me some good tips, as well as broken it down for me. It helps when you really understand the science of how your body works, and motivation to give your body what it really needs!

I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to nutrition and healthy living, I probably would have become a nutritionist if I didn't do art. :) This episode is a good one to explain how if you eat more (and the right things), and exercise moderately, you can lose bodyfat. As opposed to starving yourself and exercising a ton, which will cause you to gain bodyfat, or not lose weight. Sounds counterintuitive at first, but once you understand it, it can really help out. As a tall girl who has always been 'thin,' I've gone through phases where I wasn't eating much, eating the wrong things and hence becoming 'skinny fat.' My bodyfat once was around 30%, which is borderline overweight! Over the last year I have leaned out a bit changing small things through out my day. I enjoy being healthy and fit, and I'd like to make permanent changes so that it just becomes habit. As an artist I also like to design myself toward my ideal, as I grew up on comics and super heroes. :D
